Who we are
Forum for Social Innovation Sweden is the national knowledge platform for social innovation and social enterprise. Founded in 2010, we are hosted by Malmö University and work in close collaboration with the City of Malmö. FFSI is expanding and now have a presence in locations across Sweden. Jönköping University, Luleå University of Technology, Malmö University, Stockholm University, Umeå University and Örebro University are established hosts, supported by Vinnova, the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems. The FFSI platform aims to build knowledge and create spaces where actors across the social innovation and social enterprise field can meet.
What we do
Our primary task is to actively monitor developments in the field, nationally and internationally, and ensure that knowledge and experience is developed, shared and utilised. In collaboration with stakeholders from the academic, private, public and non-profit sectors, we work with capacity building for innovation and ideas that tackle social problems.
What is social innovation?
Social innovation and social entrepreneurship are initiatives aimed to improve what is missing or not working in the social structure: new solutions, methods and ideas that create a sustainable society – economically, socially and ecologically.
